The Digital Archives is part of the Fort Worth Public Library's Fort Worth History Center. Our collections focus on regional history, with particular emphasis on Fort Worth. The Fort Worth History Center is the official municipal archives for the City of Fort Worth, therefore the Digital Archives also focuses on municipal government history and records. The Digital Archives is growing, with new collections being published periodically.

Our mission is to collect, preserve and offer for research documents which are a record of Tarrant County history. To give a hint of the variety of our holdings, explore the various options from our guide to collections. We house more than 700 named collections in a more than 10,000 square foot facility located on the fifth floor of the Tarrant County Plaza Building.

The Archives and Information Services Division (ARIS) preserves and documents the shared heritage and culture of Texas by identifying, collecting, and making available the official archival records of Texas government. From historical treasures such as the first Texas Constitution to government digital records, ARIS maintains and provides access to more than 200 million pages of archival documents and more than two million volumes of printed library materials.
