Marriage Records of Early Texas 1824-1846

Compiled by Norma Rutledge Grammer - Approximately 2,500 marriages from 36 counties during the Republic of Texas, full name index, soft cover 127 pages. (soft cover)

The Marriage Records of Early Texas were first published serially in the Bulletin of the Fort Worth Genealogical Society when Mrs. Grammer served as editor of the then monthly publication. The Bulletin has since evolved into a quarterly publication that is now known as Footprints.

Below is a list of the counties that made up the Republic of Texas with
the date of organization.
The asterisk indicates that the Republic of
Texas era records were lost, so marriages for that county are not
included.
A half dozen records survived in Red River County.
